An Invitation in November…

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Well, it’s here.  The winds have not only announced the change of season, but have moved them into our now.  In the northern continent, storm systems are pulling in colder, wetter, weather and the days are drawing short.

Signs of the holidays surround us and humanity’s heart begins to bloom as it opens to compassion and is compelled to give to those that surround them.  Before you know it, you will be caught up in celebration of the Savior’s birth with friends and family.  You’ll make time to gather over meals and treats and squeeze in the time it takes to prepare for the early morning party around a Christmas tree and a family dinner table.

Yet, with the ticking of the clock, December 31st will ring true and calendars will mark the change in time.  The New Year will bring promise of change for those who made time—prepared.

Today, I want to give you an opportunity.  I have been preparing the soil in my garden allotment for you.

In England, an allotment is a parcel of land that is loaned by the government to residents for the planting of gardens.  People drive to the allotment and plant the things they want to show up in their future, in hopes of provision for the coming year.

Today, I am loaning my blog space as an allotment for those who would take the time out of their busy life and plant the seeds of their dreams.  These are baby steps that lead to big changes.  Dreams always come in seed form.  I am inviting you to plant in my garden.

I am giving you an opportunity to pen something you have put off and it’s been delayed in its growth and its harvest.  Using the leave a comment area as your allotment, plant your seed.

I invite you to articulate what you want more of in your life.  What would you like in your life?  When it shows up, what will it be like for you?

The ground has been tilled and is prepared for the dream-seeds of brave hearts; those that dare to dream…
