How is your New Year’s Resolution working for you?

Resolution—a firm decision, formal expression of intention, or the action in solving a problem.

We are midway through the month of January in this New Year.  Many people made declarations of change in the witching hours of 2009 throughout the first few days of 2010.  We are going to loose weight, get fit, change how we interact with people, invest time in learning something new, quit bad habits, manage money differently, and the list continues; each declaration hoping to change our future.

Did you find yourself following that tradition?  If so, how is it working for you?

Some chose to set aside time to dream.  We took time to ponder the possibilities of this New Year without judging the probability or importance.  We chose to look up and look out into the future and ask ourselves, ‘What do I really want?’

The role of a vision…

When we begin to let our heart express what is locked inside, the creation of a vision emerges.  Our imagination snaps the still images of the possibilities held in our future.  When a vision is captured, it not only represents and reflects an image of what we want, but more importantly, puts us in the state and position of being ABLE to see.

Opportunity awaits each of us everyday.  Knowledge, people, and resources surround us.  Our choice to seize these opportunities depends on our awareness of them.  If we do not SEE them, we will not capture their potential and impact in our life.

We miss the doors of opportunity because we haven’t written a vision that defines their significance.  We also miss the insight and wisdom that a vision brings to our everyday lives.

The real power of a vision isn’t in the future, it is in the today.

When we dream on purpose and mine the desires within our hearts, we not only unearth the wealth of our purpose, we anchor our choices IN purpose.

When we have a vision for our life, we have purpose to eat well, get fit and take care of our bodies to insure we experience that vision.

When we have a vision for our life, we spend money wisely, learn what we need to know, and respect the people in our lives knowing they each are bridges that move us forward in fulfilling that future.

Making a firm decision, expressing our intentions or taking action to solve problems isn’t bad or evil.  Making firm decisions, expressing our intentions and taking action to solve a problem, as a response to our vision—is powerful and the forward movement in realizing our dream.

Take time to ponder the possibilities… you are worth the investment.
